sr 822 designated in 1990 22 s alignment moved veterans memorial bridge fort steuben bridge. traffic began drop structure of bridge deteriorated, , weight limit lowered in 2004. fort steuben bridge closed in 2009, few years after plans of closure , demolition announced. closed due deteriorating conditions , limited use. ohio department of transportation (odot) created temporary eastern terminus route @ north end of sr 7/822 concurrency, bridge approach ramps began. eastern terminus changed south end of sr 7/822 concurrency in 2013.
