many types of tear gas , other riot control agents have been produced effects ranging mild tearing of eyes immediate vomiting , prostration. cn , cs used , known, around 15 different types of tear gas have been developed worldwide e.g. adamsite or bromoacetone, cnb, , cnc. cs has become popular due strong effect. effect of cs on person depend on whether packaged solution or used aerosol. size of solution droplets , size of cs particulates after evaporation factors determining effect on human body.


the chemical reacts moisture on skin , in eyes, causing burning sensation , immediate forceful , uncontrollable shutting of eyes. effects include tears streaming eyes, profuse coughing, exceptional nasal discharge full of mucus, burning in eyes, eyelids, nose , throat areas, disorientation, dizziness , restricted breathing. burn skin sweaty and/or sunburned. in highly concentrated doses can induce severe coughing , vomiting. of immediate effects wear off within hour (such exceptional nasal discharge , profuse coughing), although feeling of burning , highly irritated skin may persist hours. affected clothing need washed several times or thrown away.


secondary effects

people or objects contaminated cs gas can cause secondary exposure others, including healthcare professionals , police. in addition, repeated exposure may cause sensitisation.
