the villa , gardens have been excavated , can visited. 3 vaulted subterranean rooms, largest contained superb illusionistic frescos of garden views, plants , trees flower , fruit @ once, have been removed rome where, following cleaning , restoration, have been reinstalled in palazzo massimo. vault above fresco covered stucco reliefs of survive.


a new series of more meticulous modern excavations initiated in 1970. since 1995 exploration @ villa has been undertaken soprintendenza archeologica di roma, headed professor gaetano messineo, in tandem swedish institute in rome.
