the number-one dive site of malapascua monad shoal, natural cleaning station fish located 7.8 kilometres (4.8 mi) island (11°18′30″n 124°11′30″e / 11.30833°n 124.19167°e / 11.30833; 124.19167 – 30–35 minutes boat ride). shoal rather unremarkable 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long rock stump @ edge of 200 metres (660 ft) drop , has flattish top @ depth of 20 24 metres (66 79 ft). site best known place in world thresher sharks can seen regularly @ , before sunrise. use seamount cleaning station bluestreak , moon cleaner wrasse remove ectoparasites such gnathiids skin , clean gills , mouths. shoal attracts other pelagic fish such devil rays , eagle rays. manta rays , hammerheads seasonal. unfortunately of coral reefs of shoal have been damaged destructive fishing methods, has happened on philippines, , elsewhere. in june 2016 ship ran aground on shoal, damaging 3 hectares of protected area.
