the enactment of republic act no. 711 on 6 june 1952 divided old zamboanga province zamboanga del norte , zamboanga del sur , provided them each congressional representative. in accordance section 8 of r.a. 711, incumbent continued serve representative of whole of zamboanga province (along zamboanga city , basilan city), until both new provinces elected separate representatives in 1953 elections.
