history
1910–1938
foundation: 1910

unitas stolzenfels founded in bonn on november 28, 1910 unitas sigfridia , associated unitas-verband on june 6, 1911 52. general assembly (generalversammlung, gv) of unitas-verband in fulda. world war prevented fast buildup of aktivitas (the active student association). in winter term of 1919/20 fraternity re-established.


colour-crisis

the colour-crisis struggle among different fraternities of unitas-verband. associations wanted carry colours (hats , ribbons colours of fraternity). unitas sigfridia 1 of them. therefore, left umbrella association in 1924 , founded other fraternities rkdb (ring katholischer deutscher burschenschaften (ring of catholic german fraternities)).


1st re-establishment

together 8 other members hermann-josef stumpe, religion teacher, , dr. karl loskant founded unitas stolzenfels in 1927, didn t want break away unitas umbrella association. name refers castle stolzenfels near koblenz, germany. other unitas associations in bonn unitas stolzenfels developed viable confraternity. before fraternities banned national socialists, each of associations in bonn had 50 40 active members. first house of stolzenfels still standing on bonner talweg. in 1938 unitas stolzenfels whole umbrella organisation unitas banned.


post-war period
2nd re-establishment

after wwii unitas stolzenfels re-established in winter term of 1949/1950. few out-of-town members , few members of unitas-salia helped. once again hermann-josef stumpe, pastor of bonn minster , bank director dr. karl loskant founding members. official affiliation followed on august 4, 1950 during 73rd general assembly (generalversammlung, gv) in munich.


in 1956 new house had bought, since old house dispossessed national socialists, not given after war. house , parties held in house remain nice memory of students of 50s , 60s. in 1967 house sold deutsche bahn finance new house. wasn t fraternity life, since no festivities held in own rooms. wasn t possible provide cheap housing new students , members. in 1970 changed @ once opening of new house on hatschiergasse. there more space festivities , more rooms students. fraternity began flourish once again. house inaugurated during 95th gv in bonn in 1972 nuncio in germany, archbishop corrado bafile.


since 1963 irregular magazine published stolzenfels called convent .
