during world war there no written records of fred c. palmer, did produce postcards of war-wounded belgians recuperating in canterbury , herne bay, of possible 1914 recruitment rally , of soldiers larking about. there shortage of silver use on photographic plates, may why appears have been limited photographing troops , war-wounded , perhaps other work until 1920.
swindon
around 1920–1921 palmer took on studio of established photographer william hooper @ 6 cromwell street, swindon. street directories state there between 1923 , 1936. building demolished. published postcards , portraits , freelance photographer local newspapers; same professional pattern in herne bay before war. swindon council used photographs. retired around 1936–1937 @ age of approximately 70 years, , died in 1941.
