after receiving citation drunken driving on march 20, 2011, floyd suspended indefinitely notre dame football team on march 21, 2011. suspension lifted august 3, 2011, allowing him return playing football @ notre dame without missing games of 2011 season. coach kelly did not allow floyd remain team captain, leaving senior harrison smith lone captain.


after being suspended team activities several months, floyd reinstated in august fall practice began. in 2011, started every game leading irish once again, 8–5 record. finished season 100 receptions 1,147 yards , 9 touchdowns, including 1 rushing touchdown. 100 catches marked new career best, , set new school record, surpassing former teammate golden tate s 93 receptions in 2009. set school records career receptions (271), career 100-yd games (16), receiving yards (3,689), , receiving touchdowns (37).
