the college named darlington technical college , constructed in 1897 designed george gordon hoskins. opened in october 1897. built borough of darlington next north lodge park continue efficiency of manufacturing , commerce .


by 1950s college used 28 buildings around darlington , in 1955 took on girls high school building in cleveland avenue. new blocks opened in 1957, , between 1963 , 1972 further development concentrated education on single site. darlington college of education part of institution s offerings, closed in 1978. however, later associations institutions of higher learning provide teacher training.


darlington college of technology re-branded in 2006 when moved new site situated on haughton road. became known darlington college, name still uses today.
