on november 10, 2009, viktor yushchenko nominated second term president, election held on january 17, 2010. in late november 2009 stated going leave politics after second term run. during campaign yushchenko stated fellow candidates tymoshenko , yanukovych not ideologists care fate of ukraine , interests. these 2 political adventurers , ukraine s independence , sovereignty @ time more jeopardized 5 ten years earlier.

in second round of ukraine s presidential elections yushchenko didn t support either of candidates, victor yanukovych or yulia tymoshenko.

in february 2013 yushchenko intended candidate during next presidential election (at time scheduled in 2015).


euromaidan , 2014 election

in interview french radio station europe 1 in march 2014, yushchenko stated supported euromaidan protests , opposed russian intervention in crimea, noting in view putin dreams of reconstructing soviet empire under name of russia. obsessed hasn t understood power balance. further stated crimea isn t russian; rather ukrainian .


with regard 2014 presidential elections, yushchenko indicated support vitali klitschko, , described tymoshenko candidate of moscow .


yushchenko himself did not stand candidate in these elections.
