on june 9, 2008, announced portacio new artist on spawn starting in october 2008 issue #185, providing pencils spawn creator todd mcfarlane returning co-writer brian holguin new creative team.

following run on spawn has done more work marvel. contributed pencils hulk #18 in 2008, , contributing pencils upcoming issue of uncanny x-men.
