nafiu born in tetovo , of albanian ethnicity. growing in tetovo, nafiu joined shkëndija youth team. nafiu labelled gifted , talented player due him possessing great agility , technical skill, allowed him debut senior team @ age of sixteen.


shkëndija

nafiu debuted senior team of shkëndija in 2010–11 season of prva liga , helped club win first ever league title. played in away leg of champions league qualifier against fk partizan.


at end of debuting season, nafiu garnered interest fc basel , fc barcelona. nafiu @ seventeen invited go on trial barcelona. nafiu, member of macedonian u17 national team @ time played alongside david babunski, member of barcelona youth system. barcelona scouts watching babunski noticed nafiu, impressed scouts , invited him come on trial @ barcelona. went on trial @ barcelona , every indication went well. swiss champions basel became interested in nafiu , have been tracking him months. nafiu invited join basel training camp earlier year , played several friendly games.


he went on trial impressed swiss club , basel , shkëndija reached deal nafiu remain in switzerland before officially completing transfer once turned eighteen.

nafiu officially joined on 23 april 2012, on eighteenth birthday. played youth teams @ basel , not capped @ senior level. @ basel, nafiu trained under thorsten fink, highly regarded nafiu talented player can play every position in attack.


hamburger

when fink left basel , took managerial position @ hamburger sv, nafiu followed suit. in 2012, nafiu made debut hamburger s reserve team. made bundesliga debut @ 25 october 2014 against hertha bsc replacing pierre-michel lasogga after 74 minutes in 3–0 away defeat. added further bundesliga appearance against vfl wolfsburg on 9 november 2014, before mutually terminate contract hamburger sv in january 2015.


apoel

on 27 january 2015, nafiu signed four-and-a-half year contract contract cypriot club apoel fc. made official debut on 31 january 2015, coming on 75th-minute substitute in apoel s 0–1 away victory against nea salamina cypriot first division. scored first official goal apoel on 21 march 2015, in team s 2–2 home draw against apollon limassol play-offs of cypriot first division. in first season @ apoel, appeared in twelve matches in competitions , helped team win both cypriot championship , cup.


on 18 december 2015, apoel announced nafiu s contract club terminated mutual consent.
