1945–2007

pfc lokomotiv mezdra founded in 1945, under name iron sport club. team, nicknamed irons mezdra, counts 20 participations in second division, , best success in bulgarian cup quarter-final in 1945-46.


2007–2012: nadin ownership

the turning point in history of club in 2007. company nadin bought club, , of players released , significant number of valuable players signed. team won second division without difficulty, finishing more 10 points ahead of second team in table , qualifying top flight first time in history.


in first year in top division, lokomotiv s owner decided bring players lot of experience in bulgarian football, first signing being ex-levski sofia s saša simonović, arrived slavia sofia free. radostin stanev, iliya iliev , strati iliev few players followed, club signed 7 imports - portuguese david silva, rui miguel , fausto, serbian zoran cvetković, austrian milan janković, greek aristeidis lottas , jiří lenko czech republic. team coach viktorio pavlov. first top flight game against spartak varna, 0-2 loss. after match, pavlov decided resign , georgi todorov named in place. in season team finished 11th in pfg.


the club dissolved in august 2012 during big finance debt. 2 clubs founded in mezdra - lokomotiv 1929 in 2011 , lokomotiv 2012 in 2012.


2016–present: refounding

the club refounded in 2016 after finantional failing in both lokomotov 2012 , lokomotiv 1929.
