studies indicate useful in increasing nasal cavity volume in front 3 centimeters of human nose, , purpose alternative decongestive nose sprays, nasal strips not particularly helpful congestion in posterior nasal apertures. have been shown reduce snoring loudness , improve quality of sleep. subjects wearing strips in tests indicated believed strips helped them breathe more easily, , of particular interest human athletes have wear mouthguard , need able breathe more through nostrils mouths. studies have not demonstrated athletic performance increased, people wearing them seem have far less dyspnea or shortness of breath while exercising.
