finished runner-up in senior national championships autumn beating top 100 player martin lee , british no 4 arvind parmar before losing in final lee childs in straight sets. in 2002, given wildcard wimbledon, being youngest man in draw. however, lost in first round. first senior title won year, futures tournament in nottingham. autumn won senior national championships, beating martin lee again , defeating jamie delgado 7–5, 6–2 in final.

2003: davis cup debut

bogdanovic made debut in davis cup great britain in february 2003 against australia, playing against world number 1, lleyton hewitt. bogdanovic, ranked @ 457 in world, made great start on clay court surface against surprisingly lacklustre hewitt , led 5–3 in first set, hewitt found form , cruised victory in straight sets, 7–5, 6–1, 6–2. bogdanovic beat todd woodbridge 6–2, 7–6, in dead-rubber prevent whitewash.

2004: lta controversy

in april 2004, lawn tennis association withdrew bulk of funding him citing lack of commitment. emphasised defeat german Álex calatrava @ wimbledon championships. although taking him 5 sets, defeat raised significant questions on mental capacity succeed.

he continued compete largely on challenger circuit, winning in kolding, denmark, helped him retain place in world top 200.

in december, lawn tennis association decided cut annual financial support £15,000 stipulated minimum of £4,000, because believed wasn t working hard enough, though bogdanovic disagreed.

2010

the new davis cup captain leon smith wanted bogdanovic take part in great britain s vital davis cup tie vs turkey in july. defeat have meant great britain s relegation europe zone group iii. bogdanovic declined because of disrespectful way lawn tennis association reduced funding previous december. leon smith told him wouldn t receive wildcards.

bogdanovic didn t receive usual wildcard wimbledon main draw , had qualify. in second round of qualifying, lost nicholas mahut 3–6 6–3 24–22 in match lasted on 4 hours.

2011

in march, leon smith recalled bogdanovic davis cup squad after three-year absence, euro/africa zone group ii tie against tunisia . although bogdanovic (no 374) had lost 6 of live davis cup rubbers, had @ least won tamarac futures tournament in florida january, , regarded gifted british player after andy murray. james ward lost @ first hurdle in 6 of 7 tournaments @ beginning of year, leon smith sprang surprise when final choice of singles players james ward (no 214) , jamie baker (no 406), had lost first time out in last 2 events. james ward won both singles rubbers, , gb’s doubles win, great britain clinched tie.
