he graduated alborz highschool in 1958 (tehran), , went austria further education spent 4 years studying architecture @ vienna university of technology , 3 years study in music composition @ vienna academy of music , dramatic arts.


he graduated in music education vienna music conservatory high honoured student. graduated cinema , tv director (main study) , screenplay writing (subsidiary study) vienna academy of music , dramatic arts (with honours degree).


in 1963 published poetry collection muds blisters.


after these years of study returned iran in 1967 , worked in ministry of culture , arts (till 1972), , instructor in various universities in fields of screenplay writing , documentary film until 1992.


he worked in national iranian television (now called seda o sima) producer, screenplay writer, director, , editor making 100 short films, documentaries, , features. best known avant-garde documentaries , unique style in docu-drama. has been juror in several national , foreign film festivals.


albeit made lot of films , respected 1 of best iranian film makers among intellectuals, not famous in public because of negative attitude towards press, , vice versa.


arouse atash , (bride of fire)was 1 of successful films in box office, , attracted lot of attention both public , critique.
