Purdue 2009 Wisconsin Badgers football team

purdue entered game @ 3-5 overall, 2-2 record in big ten play. having upset ohio state , defeated illinois in back weeks, purdue looked first win on wisconsin since 2003 season. wisconsin entered after bye week, having lost 2 games in row.


however, wisconsin had perhaps finest game of season badgers used pair of touchdown runs john clay, fg philip welch, , blocked punt returned touchdown aaron henry race off 24-0 lead @ half. purdue qb joey elliott, had played extremely against ohio state, shaky in pocket , completed 5 of 23 pass attempts purdue receivers; threw interception , sacked twice. in 2nd half, badgers protected big lead pair of philip welch field goals , touchdown run john clay.


with 37-0 win, wisconsin moved above .500 in big ten conference play @ 3-2. badgers s 6th win of year clinched bowl bid 9th consecutive season.
