the emblem of 2nd asean para games stylised image of wheelchair athlete 2 hands raised upwards in shape of v symbolises vietnam , victory. @ top of emblem, 11 small circles linked around image of khue van cac (room reciting poems). linked small circles represents solidarity, cooperation, , friendship of disabled athletes among 11 countries in southeast asian region, while khue van cac represents host country vietnam. colours of athlete , khue van cac dark sea blue represents unity while colours of 11 circles vermilion represents courage , passion.

the mascot of 2003 asean para games golden goat designed nguyen nguyen. selected organising committee because year 2003, year of vietnam hosting second asean para games goat year in lunar calendars, in vietnamese , chinese calendar. goat described in many art , literary works of vietnam intimate, friendly , useful animal people in daily life. golden goat symbolises happiness, victory , courage when facing challenges. mascot s design of wearing sports costume, holds left hand on waist, , raises right hand upwards 2 fingers stretching out in v shape represents strong belief in fair-play among athletes reach highest achievements @ games.
