in august 2005, yushchenko joined georgian president mikheil saakashvili in signing borjomi declaration, called creation of institution of international cooperation, community of democratic choice, bring democracies , incipient democracies in region around baltic, black, , caspian seas. first meeting of presidents , leaders discuss cdc took place on december 1–2, 2005 in kiev.


according former security service of ukraine chairman oleksandr turchynov, yushchenko prevented in summer of 2005 investigation allegedly fraudulent practices in transport of turkmen natural gas ukraine , arrest of yuri boyko abuse of office while heading naftogaz.
