on december 4, 1989, wapnick drafted blue jays detroit tigers in rule 5 draft. first major league game april 14, 1990 @ age of 24. appeared in 4 games tigers, posting era of 6.43, , returned blue jays on may 1.


wapnick 1 of 2 jewish baseball players make major league debut in 1990. other scott radinsky. wore number 43 tigers.

after spending of 1991 season blue jays top farm club, syracuse chiefs, on september 4 wapnick sent chicago white sox player named later in deal involved shawn jeter going sox outfielder cory snyder. wearing uniform number 51, wapnick appeared in 6 more games chicago down stretch, winning none , losing 1 era of 1.80. never appeared in majors again.


back minors

he injured arm in 1992 during spring training, beginning of end career. pitched 2 more seasons in minors, 1 in white sox organization , 1 seattle mariners top farm team, calgary cannons.
