blurr beats jazz in race ratchet, bumbleebee , springer watch. spied on scourge, laserbeak , bombshell. hot rod challances blurr race, crashes when think spots decepticon. springer goes hot rod bombshell injects him cerebro shell. grapple recovers hot rod , takes him ratchet repair. @ autobot headquarters wreck-gar notices springer acting funny, , springer starts shooting autobot city.

synopsis

while out on leisurely drive, autobots , daniel stop rest , eat. while relaxing, kup tells them story of lost treasure of cybertron - supply of energon cubes loaded on ark before left cybertron. supply lost in crash. hot rod decides should try find energon, , other autobots agree. laserbeak, has been spying on autobots, flies home let galvatron know cubes. ultra magnus leads autobots arcee, blurr, brawn, bumblebee, grimlock, hot rod, kup, sideswipe, sludge, springer, sunstreaker, swoop, wheelie , windcharger mt. st. hilary. meanwhile, galvatron leads decepticons bonecrusher, dirge, laserbeak, ramjet, rumble, scrapper, scourge, soundwave , starscream other side of mountain. discover each other , fighting ensues. during fight, rumble accidentally unearths crate containing energon. during struggle crate broken open grimlock , starscream shoves of energon mouth, , declares himself leader of decepticons. fights galvatron, , autobots leave.


notes

this book written people have not seen transformers movie yet, had models , notes characters. features several characters seemingly died in movie working alongside ones created in movie later. in book, daniel s father seems buster witwicky comics, not spike.
in book galvatron s starship called cyclonus , appears giant version of scourge s vehicle mode. oddly, scourge among decepticon troops inside ship. cyclonus himself not appear in story.
rumble, illustrated on cover, follows toy-accurate colors of red , black, not colors animated series.
autobot city, illustrated in book, appears futuristic space city, looking nothing autobot city movie.
frank springer, 1 of illustrators credited book, regular artist marvel comics transformers series.
